Porthcurno at High Tide

I was born within a mile of this beach and spent a carefree childhood climbing the rocks, swimming in the sea and playing on the shell-rich sand. There is a steep shelf just beyond the shoreline and as the tide comes in, it creates a huge swell, with powerful waves crashing down. In the distance, like a sleeping guardian, is the Treryn Dinas headland with the Logan Rock.

Painted on canvas board using brush and palette knife, with two layers of varnish for UV protection. A frame is required.
