Born in Pomeroy Co. Tyrone, Marie chose to develop her early passion for art further by taking a foundation course in Art and Design at the University of Ulster, Belfast and subsequently graduated with an honours degree.

Marie works in oil paint and enjoys painting still life, depicting everyday objects, observing colour, value and form, to elevate the ordinary and very often overlooked .
