Nick Dittrich

Having worked for many years as a graphic designer, I have once again returned to my love of fine art, using my hand skills to create original artworks, this is a work of passion, where I get to decide what matters to me. I create unique artworks using a variety of mediums (acrylic and oil paint, charcoal, graphite, pastels and chalks) or anything else that comes to hand – object trouvé, bottle tops, old books.

I consider the canvas to be a part of the artwork and not just the substrate, so I often manipulate the canvas by stitching it together, cutting or ripping it, manipulating the surface by sanding or adding a spot varnishing, also embedding or inserting objects through the canvas surface to create an additional dimension to the artwork.
