The Heron (Sherborne Castle Gardens)

There are at least two pairs of herons around the lake in Sherborne Castle’s Gardens in Dorset. One heron can often be seen perched in a specific tree. The pattern on the water here captivated me as a contrast to the darkness of the trees and the stillness of the bird. This is an oil painting, beautifully framed (see photo). Framed size is W15.5″xH13.5″ and picture size W11.5″xH9″.
