UnframedThis is the village where I live in south Wales named Trellech. It is a view of the village from a local hill named Beacon Hill, and the main part of the village that can be seen is the church with its tall spire. Although it is a large church, the village is small; this is because Trellech was a large and important town during the Middle Ages when the church was originally built. Looking out over the village with the setting sun gives everything an orange glow, which is very attractive.
I have used thick paint applied with a palette knife in this painting, which gives it an impressionist style. I have continued the painting around the edges of the canvas so that it can be hung on the wall as it is, or placed in a ready-made frame if preferred.
