Wye Valley Bridge

£250.00

Medium: Pastel

Size: 17" x 13"

Framed

This pastel painting shows a view of a walk along the Wye Valley looking towards Brockweir Bridge. This is the English side of the bridge as the Wales/England border runs along the centre of the river Wye at this point: Brockweir is in Gloucestershire, but the other side of the bridge is Monmouthshire, Wales. The sides of the valley are quite steep with tall wooded hills. I have given the meadow bright yellow and green colours as this is a summer view, and the sun is shining on the grass and wild flowers. This is very much an impressionist painting with cool and warm colours giving the impression of the landscape.

The piece is framed behind glass with an oak-effect frame and an off-white mount. The painting is 7.5″ high x 11″ wide, the mount is 2″ wide and the frame is 0.75″ wide.
