Clare Wrench is a contemporary landscape artist based in Cheshire. She finds inspiration from the natural world with its endless variety of shapes, forms and floral patterns.
Regularly participating in gallery exhibitions and art fairs as such as the Liverpool Art Fair in 2023 based in the iconic Royal Liver Building in Liverpool.
The wonderful colours and awe-inspiring landscapes, seen or imagined along with the amazing animal kingdom are the basis of her paintings.
A sense of atmosphere is conveyed in her paintings by using a vivid colour palette and experimentation with tones to create rich vibrant works of art.
Paintings are sometimes impressionistic and semi abstract and occasionally a more detailed artwork which is more photorealistic like a cityscape.
The medium of choice to paint with is acrylic paint due to it’s fast drying quality and the way she likes to paint prolifically.
Inspired by a variety of artists such as the Impressionists like Claude Monet and his series of waterlilies paintings and Vincent Van Gogh.
Her design background means she often gains inspiration from artists which feature patterns such as Gustav klimt and Wassily kandinsky.
After studying a HND in Surface Pattern Design, she changed direction and began to focus on her passion for painting.
Awards such as a highly commended artist at the Visual art open in 2020 and also shortlisted for the 2nd stage of the VAO competition in 2021.
