Welcome to the journey and creative experience of Mary Wintersoul.

I am a self-taught artist from Slovakia and Belfast has been my home for almost 6 years.

Composing original paintings and exploration of different processes to spark creativity is truly my biggest passion in life, as it takes me to the world of freedom and expression.

I tend to paint on canvasses, lately on wooden birch boards and MDF boards using acrylic colours with a touch of 3D paint and mixed media colours, as it gives defining texture to my artwork. I do not shy away from using feathers and lace to compliment the piece in a way I find desirable.

I mostly paint women as I am expressing my thoughts symbolically through each of my paintings, which are made according to my own ideas, as I do not use reference photographs, hence I am creating an entire concept, personality and image myself.

All of my creations are very personal to me however, you may uncover relatable ground. If I should describe my style, it would be defined as semi-realism, semi-surrealism with pagan and fantasy influence, although my aspiration is to never stop learning, pushing myself, and embrace my creative freedom without any boundaries.
