C K Purandare is an independent, self-taught artist from the UK. This page is managed by Amala Purandare, his daughter. My father creates paintings combining a variety of styles including abstract, realistic, surrealistic and modern. He has had exhibitions in the UK, India and images of the paintings have been used in several publications and magazines.
My father moved from India to the UK in 1996, and was educated as a metallurgical engineer, and a strong interest in the news and current affairs. When he came to the UK, he found himself in art and never looked back. Some of the paintings are decorative, and show scenery and life. Others are non-decorative, and depict an event, or an issue of society. They aim to convey a message and provoke thought in the viewer, and see the issue in a different light.
The paintings displayed here are a small selection of his works. A full catalogue can be viewed on his website www.purandarearts.com.
